My name is Laura Duffey and I am the 6th grade reading teacher at Booneville. This is my second year at Booneville. I grew up in a small town in Ohio, called Marengo. I moved to Arkansas when I was in high school. Since then, I have fallen in love with the state of Arkansas and am proud to call it my home.
After graduating high school, I attended college at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville. I majored in Early Childhood education and minored in psychology. As I was going through school, I realized I really enjoyed teaching middle level students which led me to teaching 6th grade.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read. I encourage everyone to ask me about what I am currently reading and talk to me about what you are currently reading. I am always up for great book recommendations!
I am extremely excited to be a member of the Booneville Elementary team. I know it will be a great year with a great group of students. I am already enjoying meeting and getting to know all of my little readers. I can't wait to see what else this year brings. It will be an exciting, educational, and fun year for myself and the students.
