Booneville High School junior Rhett Nietert was in North Little Rock yesterday attending an Arkansas Activities Association Student Activities Council meeting.
Announced as a council member during the summer, Nietert is the junior representative of District 4 on the 18-member council that features both a junior and a senior for each of nine districts.
Seniors on the council are in their second year of service.
The two-plus hour agenda included a mental component as well as school choice.
“We made a video of mental health of athletes and people who do activities like band, and we also talked about some transfer rule stuff,” said Nietert.
As a member of the Bearcat football and baseball teams as well as active throughout the campus – he is the reigning Mr. Booneville High School Nietert would, of course, be well qualified to offer insight on mental health.
In the case of the later, the council’s discussion could lead to the matter being reviewed Nietert said.
The council will meet again next semester and the juniors can attend a national council meeting in Indianapolis next summer.
